I was at my parent’s house this New Years Eve, we had big plans for the evening but they fell through…I realized I had two choices: 1) Ring in the New Year being upset or 2) Except the unexpected and make the best of it, I did the latter and it turned out to be one of the best New Years I have ever had. I was with my family and I realized this is what it’s all about, being in the moment with the people you love the most, this is where I was meant to spend New Years. That realization is my resolution/goal for 2019.
Of course, I have business goals and my 2019 to do list is longer than my leg but all of that comes second, a close second but still second to trusting that there is a plan, even if it’s not my original plan. It is all too easy to get caught up in the day to day routine; work, school, practices, homework, etc. and becoming annoyed when your schedule is altered at the last minute but this year I truly want to take a step back, slow down and appreciate everything! When I say everything I really mean everything, even the disappointments and annoyances because what I realize is these “disappointments” really are placing us where we are meant to be at that moment in our lives. I choose how to react – adjust and move forward or become angry and stagnant.
I enter this year with an open mind and trust in my heart that I am where I should be.
