RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN SINGULAR SPACE — BATH

First Place: Meg Lonergan, LeSueur Interiors

Project: A Southampton powder room.

Design Ideas: In alignment with the old and new elements of a renovated 1930s house in Southampton, Meg Lonergan of LeSueur Interiors selected a traditional toile by Manuel Canovas in a modern but romantic color scheme of pink and gray for this powder room. The sleek marble countertop and sink are mounted on a polished nickel base with a minimal footprint that maximizes space and allows the mosaic marble tile floor to shine. Since the room looks out over the newly added pool in the backyard, Lonergan created a top-down, bottom- up shade for privacy. The pink tone of the walls and the shades on the sconces cast a flattering l ight on guests who enter to powder their noses.

What our judges had to say: Alexa Hampton: “Love a toile room! And the basketweave tile and pedestal sink are two of my favorite finishing touches.”

Honorable: Courtnay Tartt Elias, Barbara Tartt and Leasa Roy, Creative Tonic.
