A Braes Heights bungalow damaged in Hurricane Harvey flooding has been replaced by a dazzling “modern farmhouse” that will be open to the public in September as the 2018 Southern Living Showcase Home.

Stone Acorn Builders built the Drummond Street home on the site of a bungalow that was razed after the storm.  The new 6,076-square-foot custom home was elevated to avoid future flooding.

Showcase Home at 3758 Drummond in Houston, Texas.

The home — with five bedrooms and bathrooms, media room, game room, dining and breakfast area — was decorated by two firms, Lindsey Herod Interiors and Meg Lonergan Interiors. Herod designed the library, living room, master suite, laundry and a third-floor game room, while Lonergan handled decor in the entry, dining room, kitchen, three guest bedrooms and a smaller upstairs game room.

Proceeds from tour admissions will go to the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, a nonprofit that works to improve the lives of Houstonians through literacy.
